Where you can find us
Tucked away in a picturesque hamlet at the head of the glorious Ceriog Valley with the Berwyn Hills as a backdrop, this 16th-century former drovers’ inn stands in well-manicured gardens that run down to the river bridge.
Black and white painted outside and bedecked with creeper and summer flowers, it’s a haven of comfort within, the tone set by roaring log fires, slate floors, stripped low beams, antique furnishings, and welcome touches like jugs of fresh flowers, church candles, soft lamplight, and a huge welcome for our four-legged friends. Colourful artwork by Rosie Davies, whose studio is across the road, adorn the walls.
Mark and Nicky Williams have invested time and money into transforming the once dated and unloved building into a thriving modern-day inn. It’s back on song thanks to Mark & Nicky’s passion for the place – it draws walkers, cyclists, shooting parties and weekend escapees down the long winding valley for period charm, comfortable rooms, good, seasonal food, and a fabulous welcome from excellent staff.
